Competitive Greece - Surveys / National / Greek Surveys on Competitiveness - Improvement fringes for the usage of the ICTs by tourism sector

Interesting results have been derived from a study implemented by the Observatory for the Information Society with regard to the usage of the ICTs in the tourism sector.

According to the research data of the study, there is a significant use of the Internet and the ICts by the large tourism units and insular country. Even though the interest of the companies is high for the ICTs, however, the investments on supportive ICT infrastructure are really low. Nevertheless, the enterprises highlight that they are satisfied with their presentation on the Internet websites.

According to the users' viewpoint, special interest is being given to the search of information for tourism lodgings by visiting the websites of Municipalities, Prefectures, lodgings and means of transport.
